Exuberant For Life......

Yesterday on my way home from South Carolina I got a call from my sister Meredith saying that
Kelly,my sister, was being taken back for a C-section.  I could feel my heart rate go up!
You see, this wasn't the plan  Kelly was to have something put in to begin natural labor or something of that sort, I still don't remember what it's called, leave it in overnight and be induced with medication the next morning. When the procedure was done, bleeding acured and that's not suppose to happen......leading to a C-section.  At this point I am 3 hours away in a truck with a load of furniture in the back, going through  the mountains...just praying, making phone calls and watching the clock.

....Now go back 39 weeks....My sister Kelly gets a surprise that she is pregnant with her fifth child and her youngest being right around 3 months old.  Mixed feelings at first, would you blame her?  I sure don't.  After coming to terms with being pregnant, Kelly went through several times with this pregnancy where she almost miscarried.  The doctor even thought one time for sure that she did, but you know what? the baby hung on literally for life.  The months went on, and on and yesterday Sunday Feb 26, 2012 at 7:40 pm my nephew....Reese(meaning exuberant for life)Matthew(first name of his daddy)Bailey made his entrance into the world weighing 7.5 lbs and 22inches long.

I got the word that Mother and baby are doing fine and I headed to the hospital as soon as I got home.  He is beautiful!  I held him and I'm even proud to say I changed the first dirty diaper :)
A little history.......Jeremiah, the son that is 1 year 6 day's older than his new brother Reese, came into the world abruptly....I say abruptly because Kelly fell over the gas pump line while pumping gas and landed straight on her stomach, and only her stomach....this caused placenta abruption and Kelly had to go back for an emergency C-section!  Now she just had another C-section.

All this to say........Kelly I am so very proud of you and all that you have come through!  I think back on what you been through and know it was you relying on our Lord to get you through.  He has carried you through this and he will continue to carry you.   To look at you, you would never know you have five children!  You have always looked so healthy, and beautiful through all your pregnancies and I know this last one has been particularly hard.  I truly believe that Reese is going to bring something very special to your family.  He was so meant to be!  Holding his last night, as he slept in my arms I kept thinking about the times you almost lost him, and how he hung on.....and know I was holding him.
The Lord is so good to us, we may not always understand his ways or his plans, but He for sure knows what's best for us and gives us just what we need.
Congratulations to my sister Kelly and husband Matt on the newest addition to the family!  I love you Kelly more than you will ever know, and I just love my new nephew!

Road Trip......

Steve, Me and the kids will be heading to Chapin, SC in just under half an hour.
and the best part is, we just decided this yesterday morning to go.  This would drive
some people mad!  Do I schedule things on my calendar for the week...Sure..but there is just something exciting about just throwing your stuff in a bag and heading out
even if it's for one day or longer!
Traveling is in my blood.  Growing up in my family we traveled a lot, and I loved every
minute of it.  I like being at home, but when that travel bug hits me(and it hits quite often) I
just wanna go! Even if it's just over the weekend...I wanna go!
Guess What?  It's time for me to go!  And I just have to add what a beautiful day it is outside.
Blue sky, breezy, puffy white clouds...great traveling weather.
South Carolina here I come :)

Cat...Works...and Garbage

Can you find the cat in this picture?  I promise you there is a cat.  Sometimes we try to
look so hard to find something when it's been right in front of us all along.

You know their are those that thing they have to clean themselves
up from all the garbage in their life to be worthy of Jesus..Truth is you will never be worthy,
we deserve nothing good, there isn't a single thing that you can do to earn your way into
heaven....that's right...not a single thing....Salvation is a free gift.  Ephesians  2:8 says
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves
it is the gift of God--
When we try to work, earn our way it's saying that what Jesus did for us wasn't enough.
Jesus paid the ultimate price for us!  We are bought with the blood of Jesus.   The only one that can cleanse us is Jesus!  If your thinking your life looks like the pile mess in this picture, and you have tried to clean it up yourself, stop, call on Jesus...Junk Be Gone has nothing on our Lord!

Last Names Can Be Fun

I'll start off by saying that Blogging is new to me.  While I love to write, it was one of my favorite
subjects to do in high school, I could possibly be the worst at grammar.  I have thought this over
for quite a while now and have come to the conclusion that I'm not going to let that stop me.  If this
bothers you, I apologize, actually I don't...lol..how is that for starting a blog.....so here we go....

Hi I'm Amy.  People either call me Amy or AmyJ because there aren't to many that can pronounce
my last name.  It has it's advantages for one telemarketers don't have a chance, Second if someone tried to still my identity they would probably change their mind real fast when they saw the last name.  Sitting in a waiting room at a Dr's office and they come out and go........uhhhhhh Amy or Amy J or they just go looking around the room hoping I'll notice them and not make them call out my name.  I don't get upset anymore
I just laugh.

I'll never forget the day I found out what my last name was going to be.  This is how it went.
I met my husband while working at Burger King in Bowling Green Ky.  I worked the drive-thru and he made the food.  We closed together almost every night.  Steve and I had been dating about a week and it never dawned on me to find out his last name.  I was clocking myself out at the register and Steve asked me to clock him out too.  I typed in his ID number and it started printing out his time slip for the day and there is was at the top.....Steve Jernejcic......"Do What?" I said to myself!  I wish I had a picture of my face when I saw it.  You see, I knew from the start that I was going to marry this man, but was flipping out because I didn't know how to say this last name or how to spell it for that fact.

There were certain letters when I learned cursive that I had trouble writing being left-handed and writing a J was one of them.   I was a Senior in High School when we started dating so I would write  Mrs Amy Jernejcic and practice my J's all over my folders.   You will be happy to know I accomplished cursive writing J's and I've very happy to be Mrs. Amy Jernejcic :)
